How to setup Sucuri Security plugin in WordPress
So here are the steps to setup Sucuri Security plugin;
Step- 1 – First of all install Sucuri Security. Login to your WordPress Dashboard -> Drag the pointer to plugins and click on Add new -> A new page will appear search for the plugin ‘Sucuri Security’ -> Install and activate.
Step- 2 – After the plugin gets activated drag the pointer towards Sucuri Security on the menu bar of WordPress Dashboard and click on settings.
Step- 3 – In the scanner settings, you get the information about the scheduled tasks that Sucuri performs in a scheduled basis. Here you don’t require to do any type of settings.
But if you want to scan the list of the scheduled tasks at a specific time then select those tasks and click submit, Sucuri will do all those tasks right there.
Step- 4 – Hardening is the Sucuri’s audit section where it audit few of the task. You don’t have to do any type of settings in this portion, keep it as it is.
Step- 5 – Post hack is the section where you can reset WordPress users’ passwords or installed plugins.

Step- 7 – In general settings, you need to setup an API key for Sucuri plugin.
An API key will prevent attackers from deleting your audit log so that, you could recover your website after hack.
So to create an API key Click to generate API key in Fig: 1.
In Fig: 2, fill few information;
- Website Domain
- Admin Email Address
- Select DNS Lookup
Now click on submit.
Once you click on Submit an API Key would be sent to your email, copy the API key and then click on Recovery via E-mail in Fig: 3
Now in Fig: 4, paste the API key and click Submit.
