How to Setup UpdraftPlus Plugin
So here are the steps to set up updraftPlus plugin;
Step- 1 – First of all install UpdraftPlus. Login to your WordPress Dashboard -> Drag the pointer to plugins and click on Add new -> A new page will appear search for the plugin ‘UpdraftPlus’ -> Install and activate.
Step- 2 – After installation. Drag the mouse pointer to Settings and click on UpdraftPlus backups.
Step- 3 – Now go to the settings option. Here, choose the schedule and copies of the files and database. Keep the schedule weekly and no. of copies 1.
By doing this UpdraftPlus would automatically create the backup of your files and database 1 copies each on weekly basis.
And now choose the remote storage where the backup files get saved, I prefer to choose Google Drive.
Step- 4 – In Include in files backup settings, keep it as it is because these are the WP files that would be backed up.
Step-5 – Next setting is to enable the email notification so that whenever UpdraftPlus would create an automatic backup it would notify you via. email.
Now click on save changes to save all the settings made.
Step- 6 – Once you click save changes, UpdraftPlus will give you a link through which you have to authorize UpdraftPlus to access your remote storage. Click on the link.
Step- 7 – Now In Fig: 1, choose a Google account for creating remote storage on Google Drive, and in Fig: 2 click on Allow so that UpdraftPlus would access your Google Drive.
Step- 8 – Once you do all this, your UpdraftPlus setting gets completed now click on complete setup.
Step- 9 – Now go to Backup/Restore menu and selct Backup now for creating an instant manual backup.
Step- 10 – Select all the checkbox and click on Backup now.
Step- 11 – Once you click on Backup now it will create a complete backup of your site and it will show you the list of backups available in an existing backup.
Now you can restore your website by clicking on Restore.
